Went for this Converter/adapter vs. the cheapest available "name brands" due to budget constraints, saving over $30, and crossed my fingers that it would function as intended and not just a cheap tease. It arrived sooner than expected or projected, first of all, and since I first hooked it up (after reading and following brief instructions for proper setup), I have had zero issues, and it has done it's job 100% reliably for me. My motivation to purchase stemmed from the 2 FaderFox controllers I had recently added to my studio, which do not communicate through USB like most modern controllers currently. The 2 controllers operate as a pair (one for FX, one for mixing in DJ software), with the MIDI signal originating in the FX unit and running through the mixing unit to the computer software. So with this converter, and 1 extra MIDI cable, I routed the 2 units together with 1 cable from the MIDI IN on one to the MIDI OUT on the other, and then to the computer via USB with each of the 2 MIDI connections from the converter/adapter fitted into the remaining MIDI IN and MIDI OUT jacks on the 2 controllers. There is no MIDI THRU on either of the controllers. Based on my experience, reinforced by the potential complexity of routing these controllers without latency issues or worse - I can recommend this product with confidence, especially considering the price. For anyone on a budget, it's a no-brainer.
